Caution before buying Oriental Rugs:

Please be aware of the Going out of business sales as they usually sell lower grade of rugs and sometimes defective and worn out. Also know that a lot of Persian rugs being sold as Semi- antique rugs are actually over-produced rugs during the Iran embargo era. There value is sometimes as good as machine made rugs. Another problem in recent times is the internet, where thousands of rugs are sold but it cannot compare to shopping in a specialized Oriental rug store, where you can see, feel and compare different type of rugs. The notion that internet rugs are less expensive than the same rug in the stores is not always true.
