OUSHAK RUGS:

Oushak Rugs , sometimes also spelled Ushak Rugs are hand-woven in the Oushak region in Turkey. They are characterized by their less formal patterns & muted earth tones. Oushak style rugs are also being made in Egypt, Pakistan, Afghanistan & China.

Turkish Oushak Carpets are hand-knotted rugs made of semi course, but very strong Angora Turkish Wool. Some of the very old rugs found today are Oushaks. The patterns in Oushak rugs are a combination of geometric & soft florals, they are also sometimes inspired by Persian & Indian designs like Heriz,Sultanabad,Bakshaish, Serapi, Mahal, Agra, Amrtitzer, Hazara & Ziegler.

Oushak hand-knotted Carpets come in standard sizes like 6x9,8x10, 9x12, 10x14 , 12x15, 13x18, 14x19, 14x22 among others. Some of the Oushak rugs also come in coordinating runner rugs.
